The I-Unit reveals details of an alleged campaign of gang rape and murder inside a world-famous gorilla park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The journalist who exposed the story is now in hiding, fearing for his life, after a tip-off that he and his Congolese researcher are being hunted by death squads.

The violence is allegedly being carried out by park rangers and Congolese soldiers at the German-funded Kahuzi-Biega National Park – home to the critically-endangered Eastern Lowland Gorilla – in an effort to clear the park of Indigenous inhabitants.

The I-Unit has obtained photographs of several bodies that appear to support claims of violence against the villagers.

The park authorities and its former director deny all of allegations of wrongdoing.
